Today we’re launching heatmapAI (and six other new features). On-site analytics will never be the same. New heatmap will blow your mind. Guaranteed.
heatmap is the only on-site analytics tool that attributes revenue to every element on your website. We make it easy to drive huge revenue lifts by optimizing for purchaser behavior.
That’s nothing new. But this is.
Today we’re launching heatmapAI.
This powerful recommendation engine will tell you what optimizations to make to your website to increase Revenue Per Session (RPS), the most important metric in your website performance.
As an added bonus, this will also improve ROAS, email sales, organic sales, and every facet of your ecommerce business.
Let’s dive in.
heatmapAI tells you how to make more money on your website, every single Monday. It’s that simple.
heatmapAI is an AI recommendation engine that uses your website’s data to recommend revenue-increasing website improvements. You’ll get them every single Monday… forever.
With trillions of our data points backing these recommendations, you’ll feel like a 20-year CRO expert by opening the app and just… reading. It’s so simple that you may hate it, unless you like money! Beta testers reported extreme frustration over the fact that they’d wasted years of their lives optimizing their websites without heatmapAI.
Please Note: Just like every other AI model, there are unique, individual factors that no AI can take into account. Please use heatmapAI’s recommendations to run formal A/B tests, or use them as inspiration for improvements to your website. Ethics are important to us, and while we are extremely confident in its efficacy, the recommendations cannot be guaranteed to increase revenue. We have case studies proving that our AI recommendations have directly increased revenue when followed. We will add more and more case studies as the model aggregates more data and continues to optimize itself.
heatmapAI is a custom-built recommendation engine that understands what’s occurring on your website in code, revenue, and user behavior.
We’ve optimized billions in ecommerce revenue, serving as a perfect bridge for turning our aggregate data and other sources into simple recommendations. We’ve combined this personal experience with our large dataset, third-party R&D, Human Interface Guidelines and other widely accepted User Experience principles.
Our models use advanced probabilistic algorithms and vectorization strategies as the bedrock of our AI modeling. By using Markov chains and stochastic… wait, we can’t tell you exactly how we did it, right? Right!?The core platform collects revenue data, user interaction data, and maps them to your website to every element on your website. Slating your data against billions of other sessions, we have clear differences and performance increases that are proven to work.
heatmapAI removes a lot of the complicated, time-intensive work that underpins Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) research. For the top marketers, these recommendations will also give you insights that can inform your advertising, email marketing, and all other areas of marketing.
AI Naming is exactly what you’re thinking, naming elements. We built a machine-learning model to identify “what is what” on your website. heatmap knows your hero image is a hero image. It knows your product tiles are product tiles. It knows an email opt-in is an email opt-in.
Now, in our data table you can even Search for the elements you want to find data for!
On other analytic softwares, you need to manually create click-events on all the elements on your website, only to see where people are clicking. On heatmap, we auto-tag every element on your website, track all the data, and give easy-to-use names for each of them. heatmap only requires you to install a snippet in about 30 seconds, not 30 hours of manual tagging.
We aggregated over 10,000 website DOMs to build a machine-learning model to identify the elements on a website. Yes, most marketers in Ecommerce can do this by simply looking at a website, but which of these you want your data associated with?
body#lighthouse-style > main > div.shopify-section > img.modelshot
OR
Hero Image
If we need to tell you which one is better, maybe you shouldn’t be using heatmap! Just kidding, please sign up. We’re fun, we promise.
All clickmaps (they’re not heatmaps, they just show clicks) give the names Element 1, Element 2, Element 3, or even worse, just the selector’s raw code. It’s much nicer to see “Leather Jacket Product Tile” than a string of code for it.
If you want to model, deeper understand, or compare page data, now you can export them into a beautiful CSV! One click, save. Boom. Thank you heatmap.
We already built a super-usable Data Table right next to your heatmap screenshots. Before, it was a static table of data, it was useful to have to visualize the highest-performing elements.
Now, you can export your Data Table and use the data however you’d like! Plus, with the AI Naming, now it’ll be as easy as ordering coffee from Starbucks to know what data you’re looking at! In the near future there may or may not be a way to export ALL your data to a data warehouse… stay tuned, friends.
Using heatmap’s Filter System, you can create an infinite number of segments of users to see exactly who is doing what on your website. The competitors have heatmaps with one segment at a time (we did too) until now! Now, you can use Compare Mode to apply filters against each other and get a side-by-side toggle for each heatmap.
This makes it easy to both visually and analytically view the different segments. Another fun feature, the Data Table will show the data for each filter at the same time!
Loading simultaneous heatmaps has a ton of benefits, but simply we open two heatmaps at once for you to view. We actually load two heatmaps on top of each other which is pretty neat, makes it super easy for you.
Do you care about performance of Meta ads vs Google ads? What about New Users vs Returning Users? Then this is for you!
On top of the infinite number of Custom Filters (segments) you can build, now you get to see them side by side. It sounds pretty basic until you use it. Even us at the heatmap team, have been obsessed with this simple but profoundly useful feature.
Every site speed checker gives different results, even if you run it 5 times in a row, you’ll get different results. Want an even better option? Now we track the site speed load of every one of your visitors and average them together.
If that’s not enough, now you’ll have site speed tracking… OVER TIME.
You can see if you made a code change one day and the next your site is slower, go fix it! Maybe you installed a new app or even made an improvement, you’ll see it in heatmap every single day you log on
There are so many times you look at your ad performance, website, check for bugs, and don’t know why performance is slipping… it may be your site speed! We got you covered.
So, site speed checkers have multiple metrics they report on, and we have all of those as well! The most important metric to us is Time To Interactive (TTI). TTI is simply “how long it takes for your users to be able to touch your website.”
We report on other site speed performance metrics like Time to First Byte, which are important, but truly not as important as TTI from an ecommerce standpoint.
Site speed, day-over-day, may look different as you likely have hundreds to many thousands of website visitors a day. A one-time check doesn’t truly “paint the picture” for you as most people browse the internet with slow site speeds and not your blazing-fast, work from home internet. Now you’ll finally understand what your customers are seeing.
There’s a lot of “invisible bugs” on your website, as JavaScript Errors. Some JavaScript errors may cause front-end bugs that users can see on your website, some of them don’t. Whether its a visible bug or not, JavaScript errors hurt your SEO performance! This is why we call them “invisible bugs” because they harm your Domain Rating in Google’s eyes.
Google doesn’t want to send users to a website with errors all over it.
What’s most annoying is that not even all developers know what the error means! What if there was a software, that gave you our CTO’s experience and just… told you in plain english what the problem is?
Your developers will love heatmap, I mean, you! They’ll love you! Even better, you can export a PDF and just send it to your developers. Do this once a week and say goodbye to your JavaScript errors forever. Every brand should be doing this, but I’ve yet to work with an ecommerce brand that does!
heatmap has data on the thousands to millions of visitors on your website, and websites are funny. Some bugs/JavaScript errors show up on some devices, some don’t! Same as site speed checking, you’re just a one-time, one-device check.
heatmap tracks and stores the JavaScript errors from sessions, finds the most problematic ones and not the one-off issues, and heatmapAI tells you how to fix it.
First, you probably don’t know you have a bajillion errors on your website harming your website performance. Second, you don’t know how to fix them. Third, there is no third, we just tell you what to do. That’s why heatmapAI is your new best friend.
IP Blocking is excluding users from your analytics to increase the accuracy of the data. If you have a team of 200 people who visit your website frequently, you don’t want their sessions in your data! Our new feature of IP Blocking makes it stupid-simple to exclude your team members from your analytics. It’s also a one-and-done and never worry about it again.
To our agency friends, you can do this once, and all of your team members’ sessions will be excluded from your current and future customers.
An IP Address (Internet Protocol Address) identifies each device on a network on the internet. As you move, your IP will change as you’re connected to different networks. For IP Blocking, you’ll need your IPv4. Just go to whatismyip.com and get your IPv4 and enter it into heatmap. Even easier, we made a one-click “use my IP” so you don’t even need to! Two clicks, you’re done!
It’s subtle and seems small, but think of how many times all your team members pull up your website. All that data is included in your analytics and distorting your data! Get cleaner analytics and make better decisions with your heatmap data.
If you're already a customer, thank you. Tell us what you love about these new features (and what we can improve). If you need a hand, hit us in Slack.
If you're not using heatmap yet, there's never been a better time to check it out.
