We Just Raised $4M to Launch heatmapAI, an On-Demand CRO Expert That'll Tell Ecom Brands How to Optimize for Revenue (Not Clicks).
Heatmap closed $4M in seed funding to scale the only on-site analytics platform that ties revenue data to every element on every page of a website. This capital will be deployed to drive growth and debut their custom-built AI model that delivers direct recommendations for website improvements.
Established “heatmap” solutions only show clicks and scrolls, but aren’t tied to revenue. Revenue-based heatmaps, scrollmaps, and screen recordings are the only way to understand the difference between purchaser and non-purchaser behavior. This key differentiator lets Heatmap enable users to make more profitable website improvements.
“I’ve used every on-site analytics tool on the market,” says Heatmap Founder and CEO, Dylan Ander. "They only show clicks, which isn’t very useful. Clicks don’t pay the bills, so we built Heatmap. It lets marketers optimize for revenue. And since marketers also need to know ‘what to do next’, we built our AI prediction engine to provide specific website improvements that drive higher revenue per session.”
Chief Marketing Officer Chase Mohseni continued, “Ecommerce is at an inflection point. The ZIRP money printer is gone. It costs more to acquire customers than it did even six months ago. But, marketers are still running ads to unoptimized websites and split testing without an empirical way to measure the revenue per session at a granular level.”
Despite the status quo, there’s a clear appetite for data-driven decision making. “Two of the ten most-installed Shopify Plus apps are on-site analytics tools,” says Mohseni, “and that’s incredibly telling. The ecosystem wants to know what’s working on their websites. With Heatmap, they can finally unlock revenue-based site optimization.”
Investment in Heatmap’s seed round was led by Eric Reiner, Founder and Managing Partner of Vine Ventures, followed by Erik Huberman (Hawke Ventures), Pari Passu Venture Partners, Mu Ventures, and el cap. They join Codie Sanchez (Contrarian Thinking Capital), Power One Capital, Quikr, and innovative marketing experts like Nik Sharma (Sharma Brands), Oliver Kenyon & Andy Haskins (Conversionwise), the co-founders of gr0, and more.
Vine Ventures' investment in Heatmap underscores their commitment to partnering with high-integrity, problem-obsessed, wildly interesting founders. “Dylan lives and breathes CRO,” says Reiner. “He and his formidable team have built foundational technology that enables a brand new approach to human computer interaction. With this development, Heatmap has and will continue to earn the right to enable automated, AI-based web and mobile interactions.”
Ander expands on why Heatmap is uniquely positioned to build an AI model that gives specific recommendations based on website performance, down to singular pixels.
“OpenAI, Anthropic, and other generative-AI companies don’t have access to this data, and they don’t have subject-matter expertise in Conversion Rate Optimization,” says Ander. “I’ve optimized over $4 Billion in ecommerce revenue over the last 8 years. With trillions of owned data points and proven user experience rules from the world’s largest digital companies, we’re positioned to build the market’s top CRO recommendation engine.”
Despite investing zero dollars in customer acquisition to date, more than 500 direct-to-consumer brands already use Heatmap. The team will use this seed capital to hone product functionality like web analytics, build integrations with leading MarTech platforms, generate pipeline, and grow headcount in the go-to-market organization. “The product is already world class. Now we’ve got work to do on my side of the house!” says Mohseni.
